ESP: Biologia, Psychologia i Biologia Zwierząt, Bioinformatyka, Ochrona Środowiska - Waterworld

This is an ESP course offered to the students of the Department of Biology of the Pedagogical University of Kraków. Within their 110 hour general English course, they are supposed to do a certain amount of hours of English for Specific Purposes each term. This course covers 10 hours of ESP.

It focuses on water and its significance for the environment. The purpose of the course, however, is not so much to deepen the students’ knowledge of biology, IT, psychology or environmental issues as such, but rather to introduce specialist vocabulary through the whole range of vocabulary exercises, to improve students’ reading skills through offering them interesting texts and then checking their understanding and also to give students a chance to practice their listening skills by listening to original talks related to the subject.
