Phonology 2 is a continuation of a course taught in the Autumn semester and known as Phonology 1. In the present course emphasis is placed on the suprasegmental phenomena of English, beginning with the structure of the syllable, and proceeding to larger metrical domains like stress foot, phonological word, and phonological phrase. The metrical domains will be correlated with selected segmental processes.
