This course offers a graduate introduction to the major concepts and methods in the analysis of lexical meaning through a survey of current approaches and their findings. Apart from the current developments in semantics and pragmatics, we discuss the relation of the two fields to other subfields of linguistic theory such as morphology and syntax.
